With little over one month to go before the release of their debut album Small Talk, Soda Blonde have shared a new single, ‘Holy Roses’.
‘Holy Roses’ keeps to the irresistible pop sound Soda Blonde have created with the releases of ‘Small Talk’ and ‘In the Heat of the Night’. Here however, it’s done at a slower pace, erupting in the chorus to mimic the shift in what’s being said. One of Soda Blonde’s most powerful singles to date, there’s true meaning behind the music.
Speaking about ‘Holy Roses’, lead singer Faye O’Rourke says, “I am directly addressing the people in my past who have hurt me in this song. ‘Holy Roses’ is the moment of reckoning for me, in all respects. I’m letting go of the people who have hurt me and my old way of living.”
O’Rourke further described the meaning of ‘Holy Roses’, saying, “So many of us use rejection as fuel to justify stagnancy or living in the past. ‘Holy Roses’ provides me with some closure and I feel it’s one of the most important tracks on the album.”
