Soda Blonde are back with a new single, ‘In the Heat of the Night’, the second release from their upcoming album Small Talk.
If the two singles released from Small Talk to date hint at anything, it’s that Soda Blonde have a hit on their hands. ‘In the Heat of the Night’ picks up where ‘Small Talk’ left off, with lead vocalist Faye O’Rourke weaving a story of conflict through the tapestry of intense sound.
Speaking about ‘In the Heat of the Night’, O’Rourke said, ‘The music possessed an attitude that I wasn’t familiar with as a songwriter. It deftly evoked the neon of night and brought Scorsese’s Casino to my mind. Our goal was to create a song that had everything we wanted to hear. It allowed me to write, uninhibited by the labour of self-analysis. It’s a song about conflict and getting a kick out of it. The thrill of the fight.’
