‘Free’, the new single Dublin folk rockers Blue Fish Diamond, is easily one of the most playable tracks of the year to date.
Lifted straight from the glory days of folk-rock and narrated by an individual dying to break out of isolation, ‘Free’ tells the story of a longing for life to return to normal. Lead vocalist Jim Murphy says, “This last year has been a very challenging time for all of us. Thankfully there is hope on the horizon…‘Free’ looks forward to that time, when we can embrace ‘sweet life once again'”.
Formed in 2016, Blue Fish Diamond comprises of Jim Murphy (rhythm guitar and lead vocals), Shay Sweeney (drums), Ronan Quinn (bass), Laura Ryder (piano), Axel McDonald (lead guitar), Matilda O’Mahony (backing vocals), and Ella Ryan (backing vocals). They released their debut album From Dark to Light in 2018 and ‘Sunshine In My Brain‘ earlier this year.
