Glasgow five-piece VLURE have shared their long-awaited debut single ‘Shattered Faith’. By way of alchemy (surely), the band have created a post-punk banger that wouldn’t sound out of place on the dancefloors of Berghain.
VLURE have been on the radar of fans of bands like IDLES and The Murder Capital for over a year now. In early 2020, they released a live audio/visual performance of their track ‘Desire’, captured in beautiful cinematography from the loading bay of their studio space. Their reputation grew and they’ve since received support from the likes of So Young Magazine and Wax Music, both praising their life affirming, intense, and enigmatic live performances.

Describing ‘Shattered Faith’, VLURE said, “We wanted to create something that felt at home on the dancefloors that we all found ourselves growing up, yet still equally at home in the sweat-filled venues that the band was conceived in. At it’s crux, ‘Shattered Faith’ is about self-empowerment. It’s the disillusionment with where you are and what you’ve been given. It’s lying on your kitchen floor at 3 a.m. realising who you truly are and finding power in that – it’s a new lease of life. We believe that, if you want to find it, there is something for everyone in this song.”
‘Shattered Faith’, released on London-based label Permanent Creeps Records, is out now. Find it on Spotify or pre-order Shattered Faith / Desire (Live version) on limited 7″ vinyl, out May 14th.
