Garage rockers Easy Tide have been making a racket for a while now. In 2016, they released their first album, Ennui and followed it up with 2017’s Cigarettes. Going by their latest release, they’ve no intention of turning down the volume.
“Carpet Grave” has just dropped along with B-Side “Don’t Be Afraid“. Lyrically, both of these songs were intentionally written to encourage individual interpretation, as the band wants listeners to find meanings for themselves rather than being told what to hear.
Beneath the lyrics, and I say that because it’s the writing that stands out for me, the songs are excellently crafted, pacey and enveloping. The structure of the songs musically run in line with the ideas behind the songs, or, at least they do for me. You’ll just have take away what you find of yourself I suppose.
Both tracks were recorded and mixed by Fennor Lane Studios in Slane, Co Meath, which is also owned by Easy Tide drummer Mark Carolan.
All Easy Tide music is available for your enjoyment on Bandcamp and Spotify. You can also follow the guys on Facebook and Instagram.
