Matt Berninger has released the third single off his upcoming debut solo album Serpentine Prison, and as you would expect, it’s a nice sounding music song.
“One More Second” was co-written with EL-VY touring bassist Matt Sheehy but sounds every bit a Berninger song.
There’s even an interesting backstory, as Berninger said in a recent statement that the song was written “with the intention for it to be a kind of answer to Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”, or sort of the other side of that conversation. I just wanted to write one of those classic, simple, desperate love songs that sound great in your car.”
Also included with the new single are previous releases “Serpentine Prison” and “Distant Axis”.

Serpentine Prison, the album, is due for release in mid-October.
