Eastbound’s In Town: Here’s Who We’re Seeing

Dublin’s newest music festival Eastbound kicked off last night with some great acts taking to the stages of Whelan’s, The Workman’s Club, The Grand Social, The Button Factory and Sound House.

reclessreviews will be making off 3 shows this weekend, with Boy Azooga up first in The Workman’s Club Friday night. The Cardiff native’s debut 1, 2, Kung Fu! immediately made them one the most exciting new bands in the UK, so we can’t wait for this one!

Saturday night will be another special night and a gig I’ve been eagerly anticipating: The Murder Capital. Much like FONTAINES D.C., The Murder Capital have a unique presence and a driving force in lead singer James McGovern. They recently released their second single “Green & Blue“, which I think is one of the Irish tracks of the year so far. They’ll be supported by MELTS, another Dublin band at the beginning of what should be a bright career.

Following The Murder Capital are the incredible Just Mustard who play Sunday night. I saw these guys in The Workman’s Club back in February and I can’t wait to see them again, especially if they have some new music to treat us to. They’ll also be supported by Odd Morris, another Dublin band who’ve just released their debut single “What Might Be“.

I’ll be posting plenty of videos on Instagram so be sure to keep an eye on our page!
