Four years is a long time in the music business these days. Wait too long to follow up on a hit and you’re in danger of being forgotten. That is unless people know the return is worth the wait.
Arctic Monkeys new album The Car is scheduled for release on October 21st and ‘There’d Better Be A Mirrorball’ gives us a taste of what’s to come. Listening back to 2018’s Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, their new single sticks close to that slick sound — a sound that surprised many upon release. Lyrically, the song returns to romance and shies away from all things, ah, science fiction.
