Cork-based low-fi indie singer/songwriter Fintan McKahey is no big secret. He’s everywhere at the minute.
If you had gone along to a Junior Brother, Róisín O or The Scratch show pre-lockdown, there’s a good chance you would have seen him in support.
And, as his stock keeps rising, he’s released a new single, “Goodbye“.
“Goodbye” is a love song in which McKahey explores the struggle towards the end of a relationship as both sides cling on in hope of salvation.
An uber-catchy track, McKahey blends acoustic elements with downtempo beats and ambient production. Irish singer Ava Archbold adds backing vocals to the track that elevate it while also giving it greater depth.
“Goodbye” is an easy single to love, and once you hear it, you’ll understand why.
