Since I last spoke of Ciaran Moran he’s enjoyed a memorable few months. His star has risen, from radio interviews and airplay of his first single ‘Almost Anyone‘, to supporting Irish legends Aslan in Vicar St where he also debuted his latest track, ‘Mother’. For this one, he’s drawn inspiration from Damien Rice and Damien Dempsey, focusing much more on the lyrical and musical balance to get the meaning across. It’s an emotional track detailing the abuse a young boy’s mother goes through at the hands of her husband, and Ciaran hopes the meaning of the song will resonate with listeners in Ireland and abroad. Despite the fact it’s not due out for a number of weeks, its already been praised by Billy McGuiness of Aslan.
Due to be released at the end of March, the song will be available on all digital streaming platforms, so be sure to keep an ear out for it. Ciaran is also heading back into the studio to record his debut EP which should be out this coming summer.
