Shoegaze Favourites Mossy Share Double A-side “Unconditionally”

Mossy, one of Ireland’s most daring shoegaze/alt-rock bands, have dropped a new double A-side “Unconditionally” that reaffirms the hype they’ve received since their inception. Heard live at their recent sold-out headline Coughlan’s show, Mossy proved once again why they’re receiving so much attention.

Consisting of lead vocalist Emma Maguire, lead guitarist Brian McDonnell, bassist Joe O’Reilly and drummer Kate Dunlea, Mossy have released a string of glorious tracks since 2021.

“Kira”, released in 2022, is a fan favourite which was proven at their Coughlan’s gig on Saturday, August 17th. Packing out that famous venue is one thing, but having a room full of sweaty heads thrash about to every syllable is another. Mossy also unleashed their flawless EP 1990, with tracks “Subbuteo” and “Trouble” met with delight.

Both tracks from “Unconditionally” went down a treat, too, with “Love You Always” played ahead of the lead track. A solid second single if there ever was one, “Love You Always” would have stolen the show had it not been for the brilliance of “Unconditionally”.

Reminiscent of Just Mustard, Cranes, and Alison’s Halo, Mossy are assured of a fruitful future should they continue as they are. Shoegaze, sure, though the sky’s the limit for this Cork band.
